How much to charge for a custom video
Per-minute rates for custom videos are the most disputed price in the creator economy. Here is what the published guides say, why they disagree, and what the platforms let you charge.
Some links here are referral links: if you sign up we may earn a commission from the platform, at no extra cost to you. It does not change the ranking — here is how we rank.
Ask five guides what a custom video is worth per minute and you get answers from $5 to $100. That is not a rounding difference; it is a twentyfold spread, and it is why this page carries a Disputed badge rather than pretending there is a consensus.
Read the spread as two different products. The $5–$20 figures describe what a creator with a modest audience can actually close. The $80–$100 figure describes what an agency-managed creator with a large, primed audience charges for a scripted, exclusive piece. Both are real; only one is likely to be you.
What creators charge
$5–$20 per minute Disputed Three 2026 guides put a standard custom at $5–$20 per minute with a 3–5 minute minimum. One 2024 guide says $80–$100 per minute. What each platform lets you charge
The floor and cap each platform sets on the mechanism you would use to sell custom videos. Only Fanvue publishes its limits on a public page; the rest are marked Reported because they come from consistent third-party guides rather than the platform.
| Platform | How you sell it | Published limit |
|---|---|---|
| LoyalFans | Sold as a paid DM or listed in the video store. | Up to $500 Reported |
| Fanvue | Sold as a pay-to-view message or priced post. Fanvue's earnings policy lists custom content as a paid-for service. | $3–$500 Official |
| Fansly | Sold as locked media in a message, usually after a deposit tip. | $1–$500 Reported |
| OnlyFans | Sold as a PPV message once recorded, or as a tip up front. No custom-request feature. | $3–$200 Reported |
- LoyalFans. Third-party reporting gives a $500 ceiling on individual content sales. LoyalFans' help centre could not be read at the time of checking, so the floor is unpublished as far as we can tell. Source , checked 2026-09-16.
- Fanvue. Fanvue's help centre gives $3 to $500 for a priced post. It does not publish a separate limit for pay-to-view messages. Source , checked 2026-09-16.
- Fansly. Fansly does not publish its limits on a public page; this range is the one third-party guides consistently give for locked media. Source , checked 2026-09-16.
- OnlyFans. OnlyFans does not publish its limits on a public page; this range is consistent across third-party guides. Older guides give a $100 cap. Source , checked 2026-09-16.
What moves the price
- Minimum length. Almost every guide sets a 3–5 minute floor, so the entry price for any custom is $25–$100 before add-ons.
- Name use and script. Saying the fan's name or following their script adds $20–$50 or moves you a bracket up the per-minute scale.
- Exclusivity. A custom the fan owns outright, never resold as PPV, carries a 25–100% premium across the guides.
- Turnaround. Rush delivery adds 25–50%. Revisions are typically half the original price.
- Platform caps. A 20-minute custom at $15 a minute is $300, above OnlyFans' $200 per-item cap. Elsewhere the cap is $500.
What you keep
All four platforms take 20%, so the number that actually differs between two prices is what you earn per hour of your own time. Change the figures to match your menu.
| Platform | You keep | Per sale, after commission | Per hour of your time |
|---|---|---|---|
| LoyalFans | 80% | $12 | $720 |
| Fanvue | 80% 85% in a new creator's first 12 months | $12 | $720 |
| Fansly | 80% | $12 | $720 |
| OnlyFans | 80% | $12 | $720 |
Commission only. Payout method fees and currency conversion also come out of your share, on every platform. The full earnings calculator →
Where to sell it: Fansly
Customs are high-ticket, and the reported $500 cap on Fansly means a 20- or 30-minute piece sells as one transaction. On OnlyFans the same custom has to be split at $200, and every extra checkout is a place the fan can stop.
None of the four has a proper custom-request workflow, so the choice comes down to caps and to where your buyers are. Fansly's discovery means some of those buyers arrive on their own.
Fansly
The closest thing to a like-for-like OnlyFans replacement, with better in-platform discovery and tiered subscriptions.
You keep 80% · custom videos: $1–$500 · verified 2026-08-16.
Runner-up: Fanvue
Fanvue publishes its $500 cap on a public help page, the only one of the four to do so, and a new creator keeps 85% for the first twelve months. On a $300 custom that promotional rate is worth $15 more than anywhere else, per custom.
What to watch out for
- Take payment before you record. Every guide says the same thing, and every platform's messaging supports a tip or locked message as a deposit.
- Do not price from the $80–$100 figure unless you already have an audience that pays it. Under-selling is recoverable; a menu nobody buys from is not a data point.
- A custom sold outside the platform to avoid the 20% is a ban on all four. The commission is the cost of the chargeback protection.

Common questions
How much is a custom video per minute?
Most 2026 guides give $5–$20 per minute for a standard custom with a 3–5 minute minimum, so an entry-level custom costs the fan $25–$100. One agency guide gives $80–$100 per minute. The one survey we found puts the most common rate at $11–$20 per minute.
What is a fair minimum for a custom video?
Guides converge on a 3–5 minute minimum and a $50–$100 minimum order, whichever is higher. Below that the time spent on the request, the recording and the delivery exceeds what you are paid for.
Why do sources disagree so much?
Because they describe different creators. Agency guides price for large, managed audiences; independent guides and the one survey describe what most creators can actually charge. We show the range the majority supports and flag the outlier rather than averaging them.
