UK age checks on Fanvue: what fans and creators need

Before sending UK fans to Fanvue, know which age checks they may face, how those differ from your creator identity checks, and where to go if verification fails.

Why UK fans encounter age checks

Since 25 July 2025, services allowing pornography must use strong age checks to prevent children in the UK accessing it. The obligation described by Ofcom is on the service. For Fanvue’s implementation, follow the fan or creator route below. Paying for a subscription should not be presented as a way to skip a required check.

For fans: accessing adult content

Fanvue requires viewers to be at least 18. Where a check is required, it starts with a selfie or face scan; an unsuccessful scan leads to a photo-ID check and face matching. Start from Fanvue’s own site and follow its verification prompt. Read the consent and privacy information before proceeding. If a fan is uncomfortable with the requested information, direct them to the published policy and support rather than asking them to send documents to you.

For creators: verifying your account

Every Fanvue creator needs full identity checks regardless of location: government-issued ID plus a selfie and liveness check matched to it. Complete the creator process in your platform account before planning a launch. Then use the Fanvue setup guide for the rest of onboarding and the payout checklist for withdrawal conditions. Identity verification alone does not confirm payout readiness.

If a check fails

A failed check restricts adult-content access. Repeated failures may temporarily restrict the account. An incorrect rejection can be appealed through Fanvue support. Official The appeal should explain the rejection and include relevant documentation or alternative verification methods where applicable. An appeal does not guarantee approval. Use in-platform support or email Fanvue support, as listed on its official age-verification policy. Explain which step failed and ask how to submit any requested evidence through the official process. Do not send ID to CamGuides or to a creator. Fanvue’s policy prohibits bypassing checks.

What happens to verification data

Viewer records

Fanvue says viewer selfies, face scans and ID images/details are deleted after the check. The result and date remain for as long as the account exists. Official Ondato processes the check; Fanvue receives the viewer result and date. Failed or unfinished attempts follow the same retention periods by data type. Creator records

Creator ID images and details are retained while the account is open, then for 7 years after it closes. Official Ondato also keeps creator selfies and liveness images as part of the creator verification record. Face-matching data is deleted after the check. Before sending fans to your page

• Explain that adult-content access may involve an age check, including possible photo ID.
• Share the official policy alongside your platform link so fans can read what is requested.
• Keep verification inside the platform’s official process; do not collect fans’ identity documents.
• If a check fails, point to support rather than promising access or a completion time.
