LoyalFans vs OnlyFans — a fair fight on terms, a rout on audience

LoyalFans has the best referral terms in the category and a fraction of the fans. Whether that trade is worth making depends on something most comparisons never ask about.

The question this comparison actually turns on

Not “which platform is better” — on raw audience OnlyFans wins so completely that the question is uninteresting. The useful question is narrower: do you refer other creators?

If yes, LoyalFans has terms OnlyFans cannot match and the gap is not small. If no, most of LoyalFans’ advantage evaporates and you are choosing a much smaller platform for reasons that do not apply to you.

Fees: a tie

Both take 20%. Both leave you 80%. Neither runs a promotional rate. LoyalFans copied the split OnlyFans popularised, as did everyone else in the category, and there is nothing to choose between them here.

The only practical difference is payout mechanics. OnlyFans has a $20 minimum with daily requests after a seven-day pending period. LoyalFans pays twice monthly with a $50 minimum. OnlyFans is more flexible; LoyalFans is more predictable. Neither is a reason to pick a platform.

Both pay 5%. Everything that matters is in the columns after that.

Duration. LoyalFans describes its commission as lifetime. OnlyFans pays for 12 months. Consider a creator you refer who settles at $4,000 a month: on OnlyFans that is $2,400 total and then it stops; on LoyalFans it is $2,400 a year for as long as they keep working. Same headline rate, entirely different proposition.

Cap. OnlyFans caps at $50,000 per referred creator — 5% of the first million they earn. LoyalFans publishes no cap. In practice the OnlyFans cap binds rarely, but it caps precisely the referral you most want uncapped: your best one.

Who funds it. Multiple sources report that the LoyalFans 5% comes out of the platform’s own 20% cut, leaving the referred creator their full 80%. That means you can accurately tell a creator that signing up through your link costs them nothing — a claim that is genuinely useful and, on Fanvue, currently impossible to make honestly because its documentation contradicts itself on the point.

Fan-side. LoyalFans also pays a share of what referred fans spend across the platform. OnlyFans has nothing equivalent.

The history that makes this comparison uncomfortable

It would be convenient to present the lifetime promise as a settled advantage. It is not, and the reason sits on the other side of this comparison.

From 2016 OnlyFans advertised its referral commission as LIFETIME, in capital letters. An archived FAQ from January 2017 reads: “You earn 5% (LIFETIME) of all income made by any user that joins OnlyFans.com via your referral URL.” The promise was written into the terms of service at clause 15.2 in around March 2018. On 1 May 2020 an email announced it would run 12 months instead, capped at $50,000, applied retroactively to referrals already made.

On 12 August 2026, two referrers who say they recruited more than 6,700 creators between them filed a class action over that change — case 8:26-cv-02189 against Fenix International Limited and Fenix Internet LLC, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, pleading more than $5,000,000 at stake. The allegations are unproven.

What this means for the comparison

LoyalFans’ lifetime terms are better than OnlyFans’ today, and that is worth acting on. But the platform on the other side of this page demonstrates exactly how a lifetime promise ends. Audience: not close

LoyalFans has the smallest fan base of the four platforms we cover. Brand recognition is low enough that some fans hesitate before entering card details, and while its discovery surface is better than Fanvue’s, it will not carry you.

OnlyFans has the largest paying audience in the category and fans who already have cards on file. If your problem is finding people willing to pay, this comparison is not close, and no amount of referral generosity changes that. Better terms on zero referrals is zero.

Product

LoyalFans punches above its size on live and voice features, including audio-native content types larger competitors treat as an afterthought.
